Like every other social media platform, you may often come across negativity on Twitter, mostly when you post something controversial. At the same time, you may not have enough time to keep a check on replies. Thankfully, Twitter lets you limit the replies, and you can now stop others from replying to your tweets.
Stop Others From Replying To Your Tweets
As of now, there’s no way you can stop a specific person from replying to your tweets unless you’ve blocked them. Instead, you can use Twitter’s Reply Limit feature to prevent replies from a broader audience, as follows.
1] Open Twitter and tap the Compose button to create a tweet.
2] Once you’re done composing the tweet, tap the “Everyone can reply” option at the bottom.
3] Here, allow replies from “people you follow” or “only people you mention” to limit replies on your post. Send the tweet.
Based on the option you select, people that you do not follow, or people who haven’t been mentioned in the tweet will not be able to add replies. The reply button will be greyed out for them- all they can do is like, retweet, retweet with a comment, and see replies from others.
If you don’t want to block replies, yet want to avoid negative comments, you can hide the offensive tweets by using the “Hide Tweet” option. Once hidden, the replies will appear in a separate section, keeping unwanted stuff away from the main view.
Wrapping Up
This was all about how you can stop others from replying to your tweets. The feature not only keeps your profile clutter-free but helps you avoid unnecessary conversations. At the same time, it limits the engagement to a great extent, so keep a note of it. Anyway, what are your thoughts on it? Do you find it useful? Let me know in the comments below.
