The all-new Echo Dot measures 3.9 x 3.9 x 3.5 inches and weighs 12 oz. Compared with its predecessor‘s round cake-style form factor, the new model shows off a new spherical design with two optional colors. Meanwhile, it’s available in two models, one features an LED clock to show you time, alarms, and timers, and another is the version with no LED display.
The smart speaker comes equipped with a 1.6-inch speaker driver, and a built-in audio line out allows it to work with your existing speakers. Furthermore, dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) ensures it delivers stable audio streaming.
With built-ibn microphones, the smart speaker receives your voice commands to manage compatible smart home devices like dimming the lights, turning up the thermostat, and more. Using new Alexa Guard, Alexa can send you Smart Alerts if your Echo device detects the sound of smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms or glass breaking while you’re away.
Furthermore, Alexa for Kids allows it to support parental controls and give kids kid-friendly response, and Amazon Kids+ subscription gives kids access to thousands of hours of audible books, games and educational skills. A microphone off button is designed to electronically disconnects the microphones to protect your privacy.
