The easiest way to read WhatsApp messages without showing blue ticks is to use WhatsApp’s built-in privacy feature. You can disable read receipts in privacy settings to stop others from knowing whether you’ve read their texts.
1] Launch WhatsApp on your phone.
2] Click the three-dot menu on the top right and select Settings.
3] Now, click on Account and head to the Privacy section.
4] Here, turn off the toggle for “Read Receipts.”
That’s it; from now, your contacts will be shown double grey ticks, i.e., delivered status even after you’ve seen their messages. They won’t be able to know whether you’ve read them or not.
However, there’s a catch– turning off the read receipts for others will also disable it for you. What that means is that you won’t be notified when others read your messages- fair enough, right? Also, this feature won’t work for group chats.
Furthermore, you can hide your online activity to keep others from knowing the last time you were active on WhatsApp. To do the same, head to the Privacy section, click on Last Seen and change it to Nobody.
Another way is to read WhatsApp messages through notifications, be it on Android or iOS. Simply expand the notification and see the text. It will not be marked as read, and you can take your own time to reply.
Now, you can also use airplane mode to read messages without causing blue ticks, but that’s not feasible for everyone as it halts other online activity for the time being.
